The idea for bars on the windows wasn't a bad idea.  It was a sound security option, one that he would have to look into.  She was right though.  Knowingly, he had scared her when she felt like she was completely at ease.  How else would someone learn more about how their choices came with consequences, without having someone showing them and helping them discover these things?  Sure, he could have just came right out and told her that leaving the doors and windows wide open wasn't a good idea, but do people really listen at that point?

"Look, my ways might not be the best ways, but they're going to keep you alive.  That's what our goal is here, right?  You getting all sassy and snarky with me about my security ideas isn't going to help us here..."  He paused for a moment.  He looked at the mess that he had made, while using his ways.  He knew that he could be taking this all a little too overboard.  He looked downwards for a moment before bringing his eyes back up to hers, "Now that I think about all of this, maybe it was a mistake coming here.  I've got bigger things to worry about in this galaxy that need my attention.  You'd be better off hiring a security guard or a body guard."  With that being said, he pushed through the room, out the door and into the hall, where he'd head off to the room she had made up for him for the night.  He slammed the door behind him as he got into the room.  It had been an eloquently decorated room.  One that deserved a better guest than him.  He looked at the bed momentarily before deciding that it had been a nasty day, and knowing he was in desperate need of a shower at this point he began to get the water going in the bathroom.  He turned to the sink, looking at his reflection in the mirror, trying to figure just what he was doing here.

"I told you that when I first met you!"  She yelled after him before he got the door slammed, which made her jump all over again.  Ilanah was very poised, and she was polite, and kind, but when she was angry, she was very angry.  It wasn't something that many saw from her.  The woman paced a few moments, before the housekeeper burst in, worried about the kerfluffle she had heard.  Of course, the woman fussed, and Ilanah let her, but after a few moments, she stormed out of the room also, leaving the housekeeper with the broken teacup and spilled liquid on the very expensive carpet.

Ilanah stormed down the hall, her robe billowing around her with the stride she was taking.  Without even knocking, she burst through the door of the room, letting it slam behind her.  "You know what, you arrogant son of a...."  And she realized the room was empty, and she heard the shower running.  Inquisitors didn't scare her.  Death didn't scare her.  Everyone she had ever been close to had died, so death was nothing new.  This whole situation was frustrating, and she couldn't find words to express it.

Standing there, staring off into his reflection, he knew that his feelings were getting the better of him.  He had never been one to let this side out.  His strength had always relied on his anger and his passion for his job.  What he was experiencing now was passion, but not the kind that gave kept him in line.  All he could think about what that woman.  He nodded, coming to the conclusion that he would head out in the morning.  This wasn't the place for him.  He needed to get back to the Imperial Center and return to the man he was before embarking on this mission.  He turned around, quickly stripping down, and hoping into the shower.

Not even seconds after stepping in, he heard a voice in his room.  A small smirk came across his face as he could feel the anger she possessed.  He reached out of the shower, grabbing a towel as he stepped out, leaving the water running.  Taking the towel he wrapped it around his waist, not wanting to give his guest a surprising view as he walked out of the bathroom, responding, "Son of a....?  Go ahead, finish the sentence.  Son of a....what?"

She had just started to go when he stepped out of the refresher in just a towel...and wet...."Uh....bitch.  Son of a...bitch."  She stammered for a moment, having lost her composure, and not expected his....attire. The worst part was that she had completely forgotten what she was going to yell at him about.  "You can't just come in here and....skulk....and jump onto balconies..."  She pushed her hair back from her face with both hands.  "You don't scare me just because of what you are!"

"I'm going to go, no, you need to go."  It was obvious that she wasn't really sure what she was saying anymore.  "You can take my speeder...whatever...keep it...I really don't care.  And I'll stay here and leave all my windows open if I want to...and if I die, I die.  You'll see it on the news."

He couldn't help but laugh a little as she had been caught off guard at him just stepping out with only a towel on.  It's not like she couldn't have heard the water running in there.  Once she started to get her composure back, she began her attempt at yelling at him about all he had done.  It was true, he had done a few odd and strange things throughout the day, and some that she hadn't known about.

There was one thing she had right, he needed to go.  Obviously his welcome had come to an end, due to his erratic behavior.  He slowly nodded as she finished up.  There wasn't much for him to say at that point.  He had already thought it over, and she now wanted him to leave.  He wasn't exactly sure how to respond to her right now.  It wasn't like he could just up and leave right then and there.  He was standing there in just a towel, soaking wet.

"Could I at least dry off and get my clothes on before you kick me out?  It could be a little awkward going out in public with just a towel around my waist."  He chuckled a little before he continued, "Not like people wouldn't like the sight, right?  I mean, it seems you did."

She blinked slowly.  "You really are an arrogant son of a bitch...."  Ilanah said as she backed away from him, bumping into the door as she did.  "You can stay until morning...but then...."  She felt around for the door handle and once she grasped it, she turned the handle to open the door.  The woman said nothing else before she slipped out and shut the door behind her.  Immediately, she dropped her head into her hand.

"You're an idiot, Ilanah.  Complete, utter idiot."  She said to herself before she walked back down the hall towards her room, passing the housekeeper on the way.  Once there, she pushed the door shut, but didn't close it all the way, and she went out onto her balcony and leaned against the railing with her fingers laced into her blonde hair.

An arrogant son of a bitch.  He had been called many things during his life, but that was actually a new one.  He stood there, letting her leave and head back to her room.  He quickly shook his head as he turned around and headed back into the bathroom to finish his shower.  It was there, with the water hitting his head and running down his face, that he may have just pinpointed why he couldn't stop thinking about her.  He had seen how her eyes looked at him.  Only if she had taken the time to look at his, she would've seen the look in his too.  The passion he felt wasn't due to his job, it was due to her.  She was bringing these feelings out.  He had his chance, as they both had been standing there in his bedroom.

Having ruined that, he knew he just needed to get out of there and head back to his own place.  Finishing up his shower and just putting on his pants, he couldn't help but get her off of his mind.  Again, he found himself looking at himself in the mirror.  How could he have just let her walk off back to her room?  His hand slammed down on the sink, realizing that he had screwed things up.  The only reason why he had done what he did, was to get closer to her, and in the end pushed her away.

Walking back out into his room, he stared at the door for a moment before heading out into the hallway and up to her door.   His hand rose up, ready to knock, noticing that the door had been cracked open.  Slowly, he opened the door, seeing that she had gone out to the balcony.  Unsure if he should even proceed, he hesitated.  She had been out against the railing, probably having the same thoughts he was having.  The Inquisitor slowly moved through the bedroom and out onto the balcony.  He moved up just a few steps behind her, trying not to scare her, he softly spoke, "You are the reason I've been acting the way I have.  For some reason, I can't seem to get you off of my mind...and I'm not sure that I want to..."

Ilanah smoothed her hair with her fingers and straightened the front of her robe before she finally turned around after he spoke.  He hadn't startled her that time, unlike before.  "Then I suppose it is a good thing you are leaving."  She said, as carefully as possible.  "You are a servant of His Majesty and it would be....inappropriate for you to have such feelings, would it not?"  Ilanah was distancing herself, even though she didn't really want to.  It was more of a case where she felt that she had to.

There was no way that she would admit that she felt strongly as well.  It was too dangerous, she thought, and the Chandrilian had always been careful, and this man was tripping her up somewhat.  "Besides...Inquisitors are supposed to be unfeeling and, what is the best word to describe it....ruthless?  You have more important things to deal with, as you said.  I'll hire security, not that you will worry after you leave here."

There it was, the confirmation from her for him to leave.  Having put himself out there, and having her pretty much tell him that it wasn't possible and that he should move on, was more than he needed to hear.  She was right, he was an Inquisitor, and wasn't acting like he should have been.  He gave her a slight nod, to show his agreement as she continued on, proving the point that this wasn't right.

Not that anything had grown between the two of them, it was still time for him to move on and head back to the Imperial Center, and report in on his mission.  With a slight bow of his head to her, he told her, "I'll see myself out."  Not wanting to draw this awkward moment out any further, he headed back inside the manor.  It only took him a short few minutes to finish getting dressed and gathering the few items he had brought with him before he was headed out of the front door and escorting himself off of the property.  He wouldn't look back, wouldn't try and salvage any part of this.  If anything was meant to happen between the two of them, something would bring them back together eventually.
