Jules was talking when he came up to them, but she only flashed him the briefest of glances and a small smile so as not to distract herself from her assistant. "Can we move tonight's meeting until tomorrow, Jules? I would like to just be home for a while. Or how about move it until the day after tomorrow...that would be better." Jules nodded her response, and went on down the ramp and got into the second speeder that was waiting there, where she would get to work rearranging meetings.

"Inquisitor.  You look.....rested." She said, as she too walked down the ramp. Of course, she didn't know he had been meditating. In fact, she had no idea that they even did that. "My estate is about 10 kilometers from here, unless you've managed to make other arrangements?"

Walking behind them, the Inquisitor could seem to wrap his mind around his actions earlier on.  On top of that, this trip probably wasn't the brightest of his ideas, seeing as how she had been able to cloud his judgement before, she could do it again.  He didn't need any kind of distractions at this point.  As the came up to the speeders, her assistant entered the second one, leaving just the two of them to travel in the first.  The former Senator offered to give him a lift to the estate.  He shrugged and shook his head, "I haven't made any arrangements.  I should probably travel with you, seeing as how it seems someone is out to make sure you end up dead."  As much as that may have sounded morbid, it wasn't meant to frighten her.  He was just being honest and blunt with her.  She needed the protection, and he was there to provide it.

"Well, Inquisitor, unless you don't want to end up dead, I'd suggest you drive." She smiled and handed him the fob for the speeder. It was brand new, all of the bells and whistles, but it did have a small dent in the bumper, which was completely her fault. Without another word, Ilanah climbed in and sat her handbag on the floor before she shrugged her coat off. She didn't need it here, and it was really just for the ship. Space was cold.

"Jules tells me that my driving is....well, deplorable." She admitted as she leaned back in the seat and crossed her legs.

As she handed him the fob for the speeder, a slight smile appeared on his face.  It wasn't that often that he had been gifted with the key to such a high class speeder.  The ones he were used to were the one that the Imperials would use, which as everyone knows, weren't exactly the best ones out there.  This one was up there as one of the best though.  He ran his hand over the roof of it for a moment before climbing in.  His hands grasped the controls.  His right hand let go, reaching to push the ignition button.  As he did, he could hear the engine roar to life.  There was a lot of power packed into this machine.  Without any notice, the speeder took off like a rocket, quickly speeding away from the landing pad.

His head slightly turned towards her, asking, "Why all the black?  I get that you lost a friend, but it's been several days now.  Isn't there a time period where, you know, you are able to move and return to your normal self?"

She took several moments to respond to him question about her black dress.  "It has only been six days, and it tradition to have a mourning period of fourteen days, at least on Chandrila.  If the deceased is family, it is considerably longer."  Ilanah explained.  It was what society had dictated for years and years, at least on her home world.  She wasn't sure what was traditional on Brentaal.

"I have never seen an Inquisitor wear anything except black."  She commented.  "And besides, I do like the color, or lack thereof."

She had a point there, with the Inquisitors wearing black.  He couldn't explain it.  Maybe it was the whole Dark Side thing, or the dark mysterious figure scare tactic, or it just made them all look slimmer.  Whatever it was, there certainly was a reason.

His head turned even more, looking into her eyes, "The lack of color does help bring out your eyes and hair a bit more..."  Just as he finished that sentence, he couldn't help but wonder where the hell that just came from.  Since when did he ever say anything of the sort?  He couldn't shake it.  The feeling inside, the emotions that were messing with his mind.  They were slowly affecting him.

Ilanah turned her head and looked at him as he drove.  He had said a few things that made her wonder what he was really thinking.  This one was unlike any inquisitor that she had ever met.  "Does it, now?"  She asked before she looked out the front windscreen of the speeder again.  "My estate is the one just up on the left..."  She said a moment later, not pressing the question of his earlier statement.

She cleared her throat.  "So, how long do you think it will be necessary for you to stay?"  Ilanah almost hoped it wasn't too long, but part of her felt differently.

As the speeder pulled into the estate, she had asked how long he would have to stay.  He knew that this didn't need to be a matter that he must attend to, as it could be handled by any person that was well skilled in security.  However, he was the one that was there, and qualified to do so.  The length of his stay would have to be determined by how long he felt it was necessary.  As of late, his feelings were messing with his head, and he knew the longer he was in her presence, they would continue to alter his thoughts.  The quicker he was able to have her feel secure, the quicker he'd be able to head off and get his mind right again.

His answer was simple, "Shouldn't be but a couple of days.  I want to be able to secure the area, provide a presence that would ward off any attempts, and ensure that you have a feeling of comfort.  The sooner that can be accomplished, the sooner you are rid of me."

"Thank you for driving."  She said after he pulled up to the manor.  The home and grounds had been her grandfathers, passed on to her father, and then to her.  Because of the stigma attached to the Senators home in town, Ilanah had refused to live there, and instead the council was deciding what to do with the empty building.  The estate was beautiful; garden beds overflowed with flowers and teemed with butterflies and birds.  Chandrilians were known for their deep love of nature, and this property more than showed that.

Ilanah glanced to him for a moment before she pushed the speeder door open and got out, taking her handbag with her.  The other car had never arrived, but it was not supposed to, as that one would take Jules into town and home where she lived.

Nodding in response to her thanking him for driving, he would slowly climb out of the speeder, taking a moment to look up at the manor.  It was a very beautiful building, with well arranged floral.  If he hadn't known that this was her place, he would've figured some rich, snobby person had lived here.  Although, he had only met this woman, face to face, several hours before.  She could have been rich and snobby.  He wouldn't have known yet.

Closing the door to the speeder, he was already wanting to get right to work ensuring nothing would give her another surprise.  He didn't even look at her when he started to walk off to check out the property.  All he did was turn his head to the side, telling her, "Just gonna take a look around."

"Whatever you feel you need to do."  She said, before she walked into the house.  While he skulked around outside, Ilanah made sure that the housekeeper knew what was going on, and would have a room prepared and be able to get him anything that he needed.  She went upstairs and changed from her sheath dress and into a loose, dark blue silk nightgown and a heavy open robe.  Ilanah moved around the room and pushed the windows open to let the evening air in, ending with the balcony doors.  She then dropped down at her vanity and brushed her golden hair slowly.

What she found odd was, she couldn't stop wondering what the man who had brought her home safely was doing.  She hadn't heard anyone come in, nor the housekeeper talking to anyone.  So she stepped out onto the balcony for a moment to look around the yard.  It was the same as always, filled with flowers, a small pond, and a beehive.  Seeing no one, she stepped back inside, leaving the doors open.

The grounds weren't as large as he originally believed they were.  As he walked around, it was all garden and a small pond.  Nothing seemed out of the normal here.  The wall that surround the place seemed like a decent enough physical security boundary to at least slow down anyone that attempts to enter the area.  As he continued further around the mansion, he looked up, noticing a balcony.  He could sense her up there.  That had to be the balcony that led to her bedroom.  He paused there for a moment, looking up at the doors.  She was just on the other side, doing who knows what, and he couldn't get her off of his mind.  Even with the fresh air and her not even in his sights, he continued to think about her.

His eyes moved down from the balcony, and he pressed on, heading back around to the front of the mansion.  Knowing that there was no need for him to hurry his return back to the Imperial Center, he knew that he had time to see out these feelings.  He had felt something in her too.  Could it have been the same thing that he was feeling?  The only way he would know would be to see how things unfolded between the two of them during his visit.

She must have stepped out onto the balcony right as he was moving back to the front of the manor, because she saw no one in the yard.  There would be a tap at the door and the housekeeper would bring in a tray with tea, then leave immediately to prepare a room for the visitor, whom Ilanah had explained as simply a security guard.  There was no need to frighten the woman, who had already been traumatized by the events that occurred on Chandrila so far.  Things had been peaceful recently though, so she saw no reason to create an upheaval with the announcement that there was an Imperial Inquisitor in her peaceful home.

Kal would find it to be very peaceful.  The interior of the house was decorated beautifully and always smelled like fresh linen and lavender.  Lavender was her favorite, so it made sense.  His room was set up at the opposite end of the hallway from hers, and was quite large with lots of windows and its own balcony.  Of course, she didn't expect him to be impressed with it, but it did tell a lot about her, and her tastes.

So while he investigated the house and the property, Ilanah curled up in her chair with a book and her tea, and waited up in case he needed to tell her what he'd seen or what his plans were.

Her balcony doors had remained open.  His movements around from had only been temporary, as he had returned, wanting to scare her and teach her a little lesson.  His knees bent, crouching down for a split second before his legs would extend, propelling him upwards.  The jump was a simple one, for someone that was able to wield the Force and use it to enhance one's natural abilities.  His feet cleared the railing and he landed, ever so quiet and gracefully.

As soon as stepped through the doorway, he instantly began to lecture her, "Why would you leave those doors open?!  You have someone that wants you dead.  Are you just asking for someone to have an easy entrance into your house?"

She nearly jumped out of her skin, and dropped her book and spilled her tea everywhere.  Ilanah jumped out of the chair, avoiding the hot liquid spilling on her silk nightgown and brocade robe.  "Because I always leave the doors open at night....and every window too!"  She shot back, irritated that he would scare her like that.  "No one has ever bothered me here...and with you skulking around the house, I felt completely at ease, until now. Thank you very much."

Ilanah bent down and swept her book up from the floor and laid it on the side table.  "So would you like to close all the doors and windows or just add bars to keep me safe?"  She pushed her hand through her blonde locks and moved to pick up the tea cup.
