It had to be his feelings towards her.  Something about the way she carried herself.  Her presence.  It was attractive to him.  As an Inquisitor, there wasn't time for a relationship.  There wasn't time to pursue anything of the sorts.  It was then, as she called to him, making him stop and turn to hear her speak.  She had his full attention.  She had it since the day he set eyes on her it was all about her.  He had to have her.  Nothing would stop that.

He nodded in response to her question, before giving her an answer, "Your safety.  I was informed of the gathering of important people here after the events.  As I've come to notice, you have been the most important one.  I made it my duty to ensure your safety till your departure.  There are ways that the Rebels could make another attack, and since you were the most important, in my eyes, I wasn't going to allow them to take another from the Empire."  The words that came out continued to amaze him.  He had never felt this way.  It was an intense, passionate feeling towards her.  One that he couldn't fight.

She nodded as she listened to him. "Hardly the most important, Inquisitor. Did you not see the upper levels of society that dusted off their mourning jewelry for the occasion? Not one of them a friend of Reuke, I'm afraid. I am just a former senator, who wanted to honor her friend." Ilanah said as she turned her gaze to the glowing data pad with a sigh.

"I would be remiss if I did not thank you for the protection, as unnecessary as it was. Though given the nature of my predecessors, I can certainly understand your concern and you do have my deepest thanks."

For some reason, she was modest.  How many other systems can say that they've gone through as many representatives as her system had?  Now, here she was, one of the first in the last few that have truly been on the Empire's side.  It was those kinds of people that the Empire treasured and held with high regard.  Obviously she too was held with such regard, seeing as how the Empire had knowingly sent an Inquisitor there, at the same time that she happened to be.  That couldn't have been a coincidence.
He shook his head, but before he could get any word out, the Security Guard that had been instructed by him to search the area again, had come running up the ramp, trying to catch his breath.  He bent over, putting his hands on his knees, panting heavily.  The Inquisitor turned to him, "What is it?"  The man looked up, still breathing heavily, was able to get out a few words, just enough to express the issue, "There's....a....bomb...."

His eyes lit up, as you could see his mind racing.  Without hesitation, he turned to the former Senator, "We have to get this ship off the ground, now!"

Ilanah watched him impassively, from where she sat.  "Then I suggest you do that?"  She asked.  Of course, he wouldn't know that she didn't know how to fly...anything.  Ilanah did have a speeder of her own, but was a horrendous driver, and was usually always driven everywhere.  It was not that she wasn't suddenly nervous about it, she just didn't express it outwardly for the moment.

"Please...do what you need to, Inquisitor."  She said as she tucked her datapad next to the arm of her chair.  "I will be...." Ilanah looked to make sure Jules was on board.  "Fine....we will be fine."  She gave him a small smile.

Somehow she seemed incredibly calm about the situation.  Even one trained to deal with a situation like this wouldn't be as calm as she was.  It could have been everything she's already gone through was having that big of an effect on her mind, or she was extremely comfortable with dying.  Whatever it was, he wasn't ready to have his body blown to pieces just yet.

It wasn't even a split second later, he was already in his command mind set.  He barked out to the guard, "Secure the area, call it in."  The man snapped upright, nodding as he turned to run back out, going to accomplish the orders just given to him.  As the man left the loading ramp, the Inquisitor pushed the button, closing and sealing it.  Knowing that he needed to the ship out of the hanger, he raced up to the cockpit.  The pilot was in the middle of his preflight checks when he was suddenly pulled from his seat and thrown aside.  Having taken control of the ship, Inquisitor Thanatos jumped in the pilot's chair, and ignitiated the engines, and immediately took off.  Pulling the headset on, he began to request clearance for departure, "Ground control, clearance code Trill Osk 87, needing immediate approval for planetary departure."  Seconds later, "Roger, Trill Osk 87, departure cleared.  Proceed."

Meer minutes later, the ship was pushing past the Thermosphere, and preparing the jump.  As the ship's computer calculated the jump to the former Senators home world, Inquisitor Thanatos returned control of the ship to the pilot.  As the controls were handed over, he proceeded back down to check on the rest of the passengers, wanting to make sure everyone was still in one piece.

Jules was afraid, but Ilanah hardly had the energy to be afraid for the moment.  Once they felt the hyperspace jump, she got up out of her seat so that she could go and see what was going on.  But since the Inquisitor was coming back down to the seating area, she met him in the corridor.  He would notice that her heart rate was increased, and she was a little flushed.

"Is....everything alright now?"  She asked, as calmly as possible.  He had really jumped in and taken charge, which she had assumed was his job.

He could feel that she wasn't as calm as he initially believed her to be.  Her face seemed to be a little flushed from the stress of the situation.  The ship was now out of harms way, and was off and on its way as it was initially intended.  There was nothing further to worry about on their part.  He, however, had a few things he would now have to worry about.  His assignment was to remain on the planet and assure no further incidents would arise.  Even though he was capable of preventing another death, he had disobeyed the orders to remain on the planet.  That would have to be dealt with, but only once he knew everyone on this ship would arrive at their destination, alive.

"Everything is.  Just a little issue, and I assure you I will be out of your hair once we arrive at your destination."  It was a horrible attempt to reassure her everything was well.  It wasn't something he was used to doing.  Heroics just weren't him.  She, on the other hand, should've been relieved to know that he would be out of her way once they arrived, and having to no longer have an Imperial Inquisitor breathing down her neck.

Ilanah simply nodded for a moment, staying silent as they stood in the corridor. "I appreciate you attention to the matter, Inquisitor. But I assure you that you are 'not in my hair', even in the slightest." That was the truth on her part. And if they had taken off without his second preflight check, well, she did t want to think about how that would have ended for anyone involved.

"But, does that mean that you will be returning to Brentaal or Imperial Center? Because I will be sure to message your superiors and inform them of your job well done here, if that is acceptable to you?" Ilanah watched him quietly.

Taking a moment to think on her question, he came to the realization that he shouldn't leave her side.  What if she really was in danger, and he were to leave her?  Say she ended up being killed, and it got back that he was the one that had left her alone after a supposed attack on her life.  It wouldn't look good for him.  Life as he knew it would be over.  That wouldn't be acceptable.

"Honestly, now that you've brought that up, I'm not sure it wise if I were to leave your side.  That bomb could have been meant for you, or another, but I'm not going to take the chance on the latter.  I will stay a few days, to make sure that there are no further attempts on your life."  It may have come across as a little more stern than he intended, but either way it got his point across, hopefully.

She paused a moment, resting a hand on his arm.  "I would be amenable to that....just in case, of course."  She said softly, before she withdrew her hand from his arm.  "As long as you are permitted to by your superiors."  It was obvious that she followed the rules very well.  After all, Ilanah had witnessed the firing squad that the previous senator faced, and she had done everything that she could to make sure that she would not meet the same end.

"There is plenty of room at my manor."  Ilanah said.  "And a guest house if you prefer."  Yes, it was an offer for him to stay if he wanted.  It would be odd for her, as she had never had any kind of guard, especially not an imperial Inquisitor.  "Do you feel that it may be prudent for me to hire someone full time for something like this?"  She meant acting as a bodyguard.

As her hand rested on his arm, he glanced down at it for a moment.  As she withdrew her hand, his eyes returned to hers as she continued on, knowing there were rules and shockingly of all she offered him a place to stay during the time he would spend on the planet, making sure she stayed alive.  Her next question was the one that mattered most.  Should she hire a bodyguard?  No, he had something better in mind as she said it.

"Once the Imperial Security hears about the attempted attack, they will want their eyes focused your way.  Any way they could potentially get their hands on a Rebel, they're going to do it.  A body guard wont be necessary.  They will want someone with more knowledge and skills than some mercenary.  More than likely, their order will come down and they will assign someone from their office, or a trusted office, to provide security for you."  He had explained it the best that he could.  However, he withheld the fact that since he had the most knowledge on what happened and could provide the best constant security for the former Senator, he would put his name in to be the one that would provide the additional security for her.

Ilanah nodded slowly as she listened, understanding what he was saying to her.  "So basically some Imperial Rookie straight out of academy?"  She joked.  "I am not important enough to be on their radar, really, Inquisitor."  She laughed lightly.  Obviously, she was much calmer than she was earlier.  "The Empire has more important things to worry about, do they not?  Like the rebellion....and I have heard rumors...."  She stopped for a moment and glanced over her shoulder briefly.

"I have heard rumors about lingering Jedi."  Ilanah said.  "Though I am not sure of the truth in that rumor."  She turned slightly and then pushed her fingertips through her blonde locks. "I am going back to my seat...it shouldn't be too long until Chandrila?"  Truthfully, her feet were killing her, from her high heels.

They weren't rumors, at least to the Inquisitors.  It as a fact.  A fact that has been kept quiet from the general people.  If people were to know that Jedi still roamed around the Galaxy, it would look as if the Empire wasn't capable of doing their job well enough to rid them of the same group of traitorous people that brought war wherever they went.  He immediately shook his head, "There is no truth in that rumor.  No one has seen a Jedi in years, but yes, you should head back to your seat, we will arrive at Chandrila in a little while.  Go make sure that assistant of yours is still holding up down there."  In truth, it would take them a few hours before their arrival, but he just needed a little bit to gather his thoughts about his actions before the bomb threat.

"Thank you." She patted her hand gently on his arm again before she turned and went down the corridor and back to the seating area, where Jules was, and joined her.

What seemed like hours later, the shuttle landed seamlessly on Chandrila. Ilanah had all but forgotten about what had happened on the landing pad on Brentaal, and the Inquisitor, of course. A matte black speeder would be sitting on the landing pad, awaiting their arrival. While Ilanah pulled her coat on, smoothed the fabric of her dress, and fluffed her hair, Jules scurried about and dealt with the luggage and other personal things that needed to make it back to the estate.

Ilanah stood her to the landing ramp, flipping through some messages on her draped, before she also handed the device to her wonderful assistant.

After she had left him there in the corridor, he went to go find a quiet corner to meditate in for the remaining portion of their travels.  All he could do was try and clear his mind and thing back on his teachings.  They've never led him astray.  The feelings he had for this woman were going to have to be pressed deep down within himself, and hidden there.  His duties as an agent of the Inquisitors came first.  Any sort of romantic relationship with this woman couldn't happen.  It would prevent him from having his mind clear and could prevent the mission from being a success.  He spent the next few hours sitting there, eyes closed, breathing in and out slowly, clearing his mind as much as he could.

As the shuttle landed, the Inquisitor took a deep breath in, opened his eyes, stood and made his way to the landing ramp, just as the two were headed down themselves.  Without a word, he would have followed them to the awaiting speeder.  All the while, he wouldn't let his guard down.  Everything that was goin on around him, he could sense ever bit of it.
