I think, dealing with the numbers as they're currently constituted, and for the 7th Line specifically, I can go along with the Quasar Fire-class, the Assault Frigate Mk. 1, and the Alderaanian War Frigate, provided a replacement is chosen for the MC80 with less firepower. Or, alternatively, the Assault Frigate Mk. 1 is omitted in favor of another smaller support-type ship. It's the presence of both the MC80 and the Assault Frigate that I'm hesitant about. (Unfortunately the Bulwark-class is simply not an option unless you want it to constitute your entire fleet. Even then I wouldn't be totally convinced.)

I am skeptical about this Training Squadron. The Strike Cruiser is DENIED, because ion cannons and tractor beams are still relevant in a battle and I can't believe the Strike Cruiser and these other ships would sit a battle out simply to comply with the 4 ship rule. Similarly, the holoprojectors on the Action-class transport give them something that is no less a relevant combat ability than a cloaking device or a gravity well generator. I can approve of the Action transports provided they have no weapons and the holographic ability is omitted. I also hesitate to approve of the remote-controlled TIE fighters on either the Strike Cruiser or the Recusant-class destroyer; if you want to send out unarmed TIE fighters with Human pilots for training purposes, I think that's fine. (Remember in the X-wing books, the object of the training exercises was simply to acquire a laser lock, not in fact to exchange fire.) The fact of them being remote-controlled just makes it far too easy to make mischief with them in an actual battle. Furthermore, there are examples in the canon when the Rebellion is able to use captured TIE fighters for subterfuge, and I'm not sure as of 0.5 ABY they would have such an abundance of TIE's in their possession to use a large number of them as expendable training remotes.

Ultimately it comes down to this: if this Training Squadron is purely for training purposes and is never to be used in combat in any capacity, they probably don't need to be requested. And if they are going to be used in combat, then they'd be subject to the 4 ship rule and disqualified from this request. However, I would not be opposed to this Training Squadron being left behind at an Alliance shipyard or base and used for purely defensive purposes, as the 4 ship rule does allow for this.
