Historical Data
Drasek Cale was born Baltimn nobility and lived with his family for a short time before nascent Force abilities drove his parents to turn him over to the Jedi Temple. Hoping for prestige and a future ally among the Jedi, his family kept in contact as often as they could, or as much as the Temple would allow. As a result, Drasek grew with an odd life, partially attached to a distant family he felt no real kinship with, and partially attached to the Jedi Order, who tutored him in many ways. A student of history, he often spent many hours researching the past years of the Republic; of the ancient Sith and on politics both past and present. He had a natural affinity for mechanics and tinkering, though it was often discouraged by his Master.
In the years prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Cale had a vision, a partial prophecy through the Force of what was to come. Not yet a Knight, he ssense about himself. trove harder in both work and research, learning as much as he could of combat and of the Sith, despite the consternation of those set above him. When he achieved Knighthood, he took no Padawan, preferring long-ranging missions that pulled him away from the Temple and the Order, allowing him to explore the galaxy without someone looking over his shoulder. Many of his jaunts into places left better alone led him nowhere; worlds once inhabited or controlled by the Sith Empire were graveyards that tomb-robbers, archaeologists and Jedi had already struck, leaving behind naught but echoes of faded darkside energy and ruins. Nonetheless, something did come to Cale, on Ziost, where the dark side remained strong. Cale's own memory of his journey to Ziost was wiped clean; he had naught to recall what had happened save for a lost week and a suit of ancient armor that fairly reeked of unbridled dark energy.
Utilizing the monies his family had set aside in an account for him, he bought a storage unit on one of the many nondescript Outer Rim worlds and stashed the armor there, against his better judgement. When he returned to the Order without answers for his absence, it was chalked up to the flighty whims of a younger man, but nobody could deny that he hadn't changed somehow. Where the young, ever-questioning man had been was now a young man with a far more grave sense about himself, though he was no less of a study. With the outbreak of the Clone Wars, all of the Jedi were spread thin. By skill in the Force, a command of tactics and an unwillingness to fail, or shirk from combat no matter how ugly, Cale clawed his way into the respect of the Masters. There had been talk of promoting him as such, when he was 'killed' in a battle; his body never recovered, and he was marked as dead.
In reality, Cale had orchestrated his own demise, taking the opportunity to flee the Order and the purge to come. He cut himself off from the Force, for a time, putting himself as an ordinary human, wandering the changing spacelanes. The only time he broke his cover was to kill an opposing Jedi, gone dark, and whose saber he took before destroying the body. As time passed and Palpatine's Empire came fully into power, Cale, who'd long since emptied the vault his parents had left for him and opened new accounts under a myriad of false names, took the wealth he'd allowed to accrue and exiled himself fully to Mandalore, a world and people he'd long admired for their steadfast resolve.
Over time, he became one of them fully, and he lives there to this day.
