Gentlemen,

Information provided by Princess Leia Organa, as retrieved by Lord Vader and Moff Tarkin, on the locate of the Rebel base located on Dantooine proved minimal in the location of any such elements that would lead to the apprehension of those involved in the Murder of Moff Tarkin, his command staff, and numerous Imperial Personnel stationed upon the primary Battle-Station as it orbited Yavin IV.

An initial investigation of the location on Dantooine secured an already abandoned Rebel Base that has not been in operation for some time. Searches revealed its location to be near an ancient Jedi Enclave (with initial searches of the area proving that the enclave had been undisturbed by the Rebels; and only few locals speaking of anything of value being left in side due to looters and scavengers). An eye witness confirmed the location and operation of such a base until recently; however due to his age and lack of communication infrastructure, he was incapable of providing definitive numbers; nor contacting Imperial Forces upon his discovery of the location. He did provide the information on the possibility of a strength of numbers between a Battalion or Regiment in size [as recalled from Force composition during the Clone Wars]. The individual (being a veteran of the Clone Wars and honorably discharged from duty upon the closure of the War) had since been compensated for his loyalty and thanked for his service.

Further investigation provided no additional clues to the whereabouts of those individuals responsible for the murder of countless Imperial Personnel. It is recommended that a modest force of Frigates and Patrol Vessels be sent into the area to keep a weary eye upon Dantooine should Rebel elements seek to return or other such cells emerge upon the world.

The Praetor is currently enroute to the Kuat system to join with other elements of its Battlegroup; where it shall remain until further orders are received.

Signed,

Admiral Blackwood
Commanding officer of the Praetor
Imperial Navy

Admiral Blackwood,

Thank you for seeing to this rather unglamorous task personally, Admiral. The initial reports of our scout ships needed to followed up on, and the presence of the Praetor at Dantooine will hopefully have deterred the local population from harboring any rebel presence on the planet for the foreseeable future. Nonetheless, we agree with your recommendation that the Empire have a more visible presence in the Raioballo Sector just in case, and any further investigation of rebel sympathies on Dantooine shall be turned over to the Imperial Security Bureau.

On a related matter, you know that I don't care any more for the Inquisitors than you do, Tasgetius, but do remember that they report directly to Lord Vader. I've had enough encounters with that man—or machine, or whatever he is—to know that I don't want to have any more, and you shouldn't either, old friend. Times have changed since the Clone Wars, and unfortunately it is required of us that we respect these sinister, black-hooded figures, or at least not disrespect them. Though, between us, I would have loved to see the expression on Inquisitor Deschain's face when you denied him permission to land.

I hope you find the time to visit Imperial Center during your stay in the Core, Tasgetius. Perhaps we may catch up on old times over a cup of caf.

Thank you again for seeing to Dantooine personally. Hopefully we'll have a more interesting mission for you next time.

Yours sincerely,

Fleet Admiral Per Jensen
Venator-class Star Destroyer Salient
Permanent Attaché to High Command and Naval Liaison to the Imperial Ruling Council
