| Esteemed members of High Command,
I ask that you forgive the text-only message I'm forced to send. The doctors on Ord Biniir have left strict instructions for me not to tax myself until they are satisfied my wounds are fully healed. However, I wished to give a direct report and my findings from the skirmish at Ketaris.
We came under attack by an enemy force that severely outnumbered us in terms of small craft and capital vessels. While I am hesitant to use the term 'rebels,' the type of vessels and the amount used in the combat were consistent with those known to be fielded by the so-called 'Rebel Alliance.' Despite facing numerous A-wing, X-wing and Y-wing assaults, my estimation of the attackers' actual fighting skill is quite low. They relied heavily on projectile ordnance rather than dogfighting skill; from the actual amount of ordnance expended against my squadron alone, it is safe to assume that whichever group they represented, that group is likely to be highly in need of concussion missiles and proton torpedoes.
Furthermore, their capital vessels utilized no real strategy that I could discern, preferring brute force. It is my opinion that discerning fleet commanders could take advantage of this to draw such enemies into traps.
The doctors are urging me to rest, so I shall make my final point quickly.
In terms of performance, the TIE Interceptor stock model is highly superior in speed and maneuverability to both the Y-wing and the X-wing, the lack of shields, hyperdrive and dedicated hardpoints are severe drawbacks. Against the A-wing, unless in the hands of a superior pilot, the A-wing will win out each and every time. It is my hope that the combined flight recorder data from my squadron will assist in further allowing the Empire to counter its enemies.
In closing, I would put forth a request to replace the two pilots I have lost in my squadron, as well as replacement TIE Interceptors; I have heard that upgraded models exist that do support hyperdrive, shields and hardpoints, after all.
Until then, I await reassignment.

The Colonel does an excellent job of stating the obvious. I'd like to have him offered a transfer to be the escort for my Lictor-class ship now in the region, and I think I could find use for them. Of some variety. I'd like to request a Space Master-class transport be refitted to act as a carrier Q-ship and be fitted to carry 12 fighters. I'll see if we can find His Colonelship something with deflector shields worthy of such a fine as prestigious unit.
