| Admiral Jensen,
I regret that I was unable to contact you sooner; the Stalwart has just managed to limp back to Ord Biniir, where we are putting in for extensive repairs to our engines. I also regret to inform you of the loss of an entire convoy, including a Lancer-class frigate and irreparable damage to a Nebulon-B2. Fortunately, the pilots who survived the engagement, the 132nd, from accounts, gave more than an adequate accounting of themselves during the battle, despite losses, which include a captured officer and TIE Interceptor. It is rare, Admiral, for Fleet and Starfighter commands to get along, as you well know, but I would note that Colonel Jarec Rissen and Lieutenant Selaria Utasi deserve a commendation for their heroic actions while under fire from a numerically superior force. You'll find the proper paperwork attached to this message.
At this time, Admiral, I would like to prevail upon High Command's hopeful generosity. I am requesting a replacement for my VT-49 Decimator in the form of a Carrack-class cruiser, and a replacement for my EF76 Nebulon-B frigate in the form of, ideally, a Gladiator-class Star Destroyer.
Admiral, I know we are often discouraged from identifying such attacks as committed by 'rebels' or from referring to 'superior numbers,' but frankly, there is no other explanation. My ship alone was beset by nearly a full hundred X-wings and an Alderranian war cruiser. The enemy had also fielded a Home One-class vessel, as well as an Assault Frigate and a bulk cruiser. To face that much concentrated snubfighter power would have been the next thing to suicide. Had the attackers not withdrawn, I question the 148th's ability to remain operational at present.
I thank you for your time in considering my request, Admiral.
Regards,
Kanzad Shirnoq Line Captain, 148th Force Escort Squadron Victory-II-class Star Destroyer Stalwart
