| Admiral,
The 148th is in the process of refitting at Ord Biniir, and I have transferred the TIE Hunters groundside for processing and reassignment back to the storm commandos. While I await word of our next assignment, I wished to bring a matter to your attention, Admiral, and I hope I am not too forward in doing so.
In recent engagements with the rebels, it has been made painfully clear to me that their snubfighters, namely the T-65 'X-Wing' as they refer to it, have a marked advantage over our own line unit TIEs. I put in a request for replacement ships for those lost; TIE Aggressors and TIE bombers, if available, or, perhaps, if the Navy can spare a handful of the XG-1 Star Wings I have heard about. The 148th is not a large squadron, Admiral; some of my vessels could suffer greatly under a combined X-wing and Y-wing assault, and enough snubfighters could even threaten my own vessel. I prefer to err on the side of caution, especially with as much time as I spend on the Rim.
If it is possible that certain assets could be assigned to me, perhaps even on a trial basis, I would be much indebted to you.
Kind regards,
Kanzad Shirnoq Line Captain, 148th Force Escort Squadron Victory-II-class Star Destroyer Stalwart

| Captain Shirnoq,
Indeed the 148th is not a large squadron, and this is precisely the reason why it is difficult to justify the allocation of more expensive and ordinance-heavy TIE variants such as the TIE/AG or TIE/SA. However, I see the quandary that this poses and I share your concerns. I think the Fei Hu fiasco demonstrated to everyone's satisfaction the superiority of the T-65 to the TIE/LN, to say nothing of the T-65's performance at Yavin. As you know, we've commissioned from Seinar the new TIE/IN design to serve in an interceptor role, specifically as an answer to the T-65 and other more heavily-armed and shielded rebel fighters. We're rotating the TIE Interceptor into service as fast as possible. Would this not serve your needs as well as a TIE/AG or TIE/SA? (Our field tests of the XG-1 Star Wing have thus far had mixed results relative to its 125,000 credit price tag).
Yours sincerely,
Fleet Admiral Per Jensen Venator-class Star Destroyer Salient Permanent Attaché to High Command and Naval Liaison to the Imperial Ruling Council

| Admiral Jensen,
May I hazard to say that I have heard certain whisperings that the TIE Interceptor is by far and away better than most rebel craft currently fielded. As a force breakdown, Captain Drak of my EF76 has wished to retain a squadron of his TIE/INs, while I would like to see his second squadron replaced with a squadron of these new Interceptors, if possible. As for my own vessel, which also carries but two squadrons, I would, if possible, make the bid for two squadrons of TIE Interceptors.
I should note, Admiral, that I have included a manifest of ground vehicles, to include ten AT-ATs, fifteen AT-STs and ten of the older-model Juggernauts. As my squadron sees little action in the pacification of planetary objectives, I feel that to tie up Imperial machinery and crews that could be put to better use elsewhere would be practically criminal of me, not to mention depriving the crews and personnel themselves a lack of service and, perhaps with some modifications, I could increase my TIE carrying capacity and make up for the shortcomings in terms of snubfighters I can field. In addition, I am considering having three of my five Lambda shuttles refit to the military configuration so that they might supplement my squadrons.
Kind regards,
Kanzad Shirnoq Line Captain, 148th Force Escort Squadron Victory-II-class Star Destroyer Stalwart

| Captain Shirnoq,
I see you're showing the same initiative that you displayed at Cadomai. Send the necessary documents to me and I'll have them approved. As for the TIE Interceptors, I have arranged an initial shipment of four squadrons to Ord Biniir—three of them are reserved for the 148th. I shall empower the Quartermaster General at Ord Biniir to allocate the fourth squadron to you if he deems it a practical replacement for your surface vehicles.
Yours sincerely,
Fleet Admiral Per Jensen Venator-class Star Destroyer Salient Permanent Attaché to High Command and Naval Liaison to the Imperial Ruling Council

| Admiral Jensen,
This is most excellent news, and I thank you for the high praise. You'll find the documents encrypted alongside this transmission, as well as a roster of the names of ground personnel who have already been transferred to Ord Biniir's surface for future transport. Again, Admiral, I am most appreciative of the squadrons you've allocated to me. I shan't let them go to waste.
Kind regards,
Kanzad Shirnoq Line Captain, 148th Force Escort Squadron Victory-II-class Star Destroyer Stalwart
