(( Mind if I post briefly? I was just going to excuse Murdok from the thread since Deschain is probably doing a similar job here and I don't want Blackwood to feel overwhelmed. But there will be plenty of opportunities for Murdok and Blackwood to meet later. ))Added (17 Jul 2015, 11:31 PM)

Dantooine was one of those worlds nearly as far away from the "bright center of the galaxy" as it was possible to be. The Empire was that bright center of the galaxy, and as with all bright things, it cast a long shadow. And it was in that shadow, on the Dantooines of the galaxy, where the enemies of the Empire hid. In this instance, however, it was not Dantooine that interested Lym Murdok, but the nearby world of Gravlex Med, in Anx Space, where he was soon to begin an investigation into possible industrial sabotage.
Murdok couldn't pass by the opportunity—literally, since Dantooine was on his way to Anx Space—to observe one of the most storied Admirals of the Empire overturn a rock and squish the unpleasant things that slithered beneath it. Murdok congratulated himself on the metaphor as he looked out the viewport of his quarters on the Praetor at the planet below. Unfortunately, his night on the ship had been uneventful; the Rebels, it seemed, had evacuated Dantooine long ago. He still wanted Blackwood's assessment of the Rebel presence in the Raioballo Sector, but he began to suspect that the Admiral was avoiding him. It was most unusual that a visiting ISB agent should not even be invited to dinner.
Murdok, never one to forget, much less forgive a slight, whether real or imagined, might have forced the issue if Inquisitor Deschain hadn't arrived the following day. He could not stand the Inquisitors—probably because he had no power over them. All he could do was pointedly depart the Praetor without staying to greet Deschain, and later file a complaint on Imperial Center about Deschain's unannounced visit impeding his investigation.
Murdok would continue to seethe quietly as his VT-49 Decimator Albatross left in the direction of Anx Space. The Empire had not rid itself of the Jedi simply to replace them with the Inquisitors, many of whom were themselves former Jedi! What did they know or care for the New Order? The day that the Emperor saw no further need of them would be a good day for the Empire, and for Lym Murdok.
As Dantooine receded from view, he reminded himself to arrange another visit with Blackwood in the near future. A moment later, the Albatross disappeared into hyperspace.
