The remains of several freighters tumbled, burning, in the forward viewport. Despite the bustle on the bridge, Kanzad Shirnoq stood calmly, hands clasped behind his back, watching. Flashes of light and brief explosions represented the deaths of ships in the distance, as his TIE fighters and newly-received TIE hunters clashed with Rebel Y-wings and Z-95s. From his left peripheral, he could see the white bulk of the EF76 Bonecrusher surging forward and repressed a smile. Captain Drak was ever the ambitious man; one day, it might take him to great heights. One day, it could also lead to his complete downfall.

He'd ambushed the Rebel convoy coming out of hyperspace, from Lianna, he assumed, then to Bonadan with intent of riding the Hydian Way to their destination. It was a convoy he'd been shadowing for weeks now, and perseverance had paid off, evidenced by the remains of broken ships and bodies. He'd had no interest in the capture of the personnel; if it came to pass, then so be it, but destruction served its purpose as well. Ahead, in the distance, a trio of GR-75 medium transports fled at their rather unimpressive top speed. He'd been holding back in the Stalwart, savoring the moment. Turning to his communications office, he called for a channel to be opened to the Bonecrusher.

"Captain Drak, you have clearance to proceed ahead."

The simple command unleashed the man, and the Bonecrusher's engines flared fully to life as the frigate accelerated, ready for the task of hunting down the final trio of ships. Turning on his heel, Shirnoq strode back down the command walkway, waiting for the report of another operation successfully completed.

The remainder of the battle went as Shirnoq predicted, save for the escape of one badly-damaged enemy transport. Recalling all TIEs to their respective bays, he gave the order to move on to their next destination, and the small fleet vanished into hyperspace.
