| Exactly one hour prior to the operation, Cole returned to the bridge. His crew was operating at their calm efficiency for which he prized them, commended them, and as he walked over to one of the command terminals, departing the long walkway in favor of entering a crew pit, he checked the status readouts personally. All fighters were prepped with pilots standing by. All ships reported readiness. All status checks were complete. Excellent. Quite excellent indeed. He didn't expect a bloodless battle; in fact, he expected the smugglers and pirates therein to have arrayed something for him. It was for that exact reason that he'd chosen to leak word of his impending assault. Break their back at Roon, break their spirit. There would be enough time for any survivors to flee and carry word of Cole's attack that it would demoralize malcontents on other planets in the Abrion Sector.
The deck vibrated beneath his feet briefly, a sign of the engines engaging at full thrust, moving them towards the jump point. Giving a nod to the ensign whose station he'd borrowed, Cole clasped his hands behind his back and mounted the walkway, heading towards the forward viewport. Thinking that a rabble would have a chance against the Empire gave him a small amount of amusement, but he kept it from his face. Order and discipline. That was what this operation represented.
As the chrono counted down to zero, the vibration beneath his feet increased, a sign of the hyperspace jump coming. The stars began to blur outside the viewport and Cole turned his back on the sight. It was time.
